Stayed in 2 bedroom apartment at the back of the hotel. Lovely, warm and cosy which was perfect for our needs after a day on the slopes.
Ideally located in Fort William as a base for visiting Ben Nevis and Glen Coe. The people running it were lovely and couldn't be more helpful. The restaurant food was great but it's not exactly cheap. The breakfast fry up somehow wasn't quite right. I would say though although clean and tidy everything in the room felt dated but that didn't matter as we were out and about for our stay.
We have driven by the Lime Tree on many occasions over the years. Previous we have not been able to get a room till now. Was it worth the wait? We think it was . In particular with the Silly Goose restaurant being part of the hotel. The room and hotel was up to the standard we would expect. Helpful, and lovely staff. Room was as just what we wanted, warm, cosy all the facilities we required. When booking we discovered the Silly Goose, and that we could book at table. Might I say the brief details about the owners sold me on booking a table. Our experience of the restaurant was as good as any fine dining experience we have had anywhere in UK. Not just dinner the same delight for breakfast as well. We will be back if we can get room. This is now on our list of places to return to.
Absolutely beautiful stay at Lime Tree Hotel! We have a corner room on first floor with a gorgeous view of the loch, beautifully comfortable 4 poster bed, large bathroom and all comforts you would want.
Stayed at the Lime Tree Hotel in Fort William and had a very pleasant experience. Historic building, very central location – shops and restaurants within walking distance. Our room was freshly renovated: large, modern, great soundproofing, and even USB-C charging ports. Only downside: the wooden bedframe creaked quite a bit. Breakfast was simple but with the option for freshly cooked dishes, which were delicious. Private parking is available – a big plus in Fort William! Overall: stylish renovation, great location, friendly service. Would definitely stay again.
Stayed and ate at the restaurant. Room was on the top floor. Very nice but a bit outdated. It was warm the night we stayed there but the room was a reasonable temperature and not too noisy with the windows open. Food was good. Ham hock appetizer was alright. Trout and mussel entree was fantastic.
Found a last minute room. No issues checking in, central location and great breakfast. They held our bags while we hiked the waterfall. Very helpful, friendly staff.
the room was beautiful with a view of the loch. Lots of space, even in the bathroom. We had an exquisite dinner in the restaurant. BUT: the minimalistic breakfast was really pathetic, as other reviews have already criticized, burnt pastries, empty fruit bowls, etc. Why? Your service and the chef were so good the night before!! On the day of departure, no shower possible as there was hardly any water pressure due to construction work; annoying. You could be so much better!!!
